FINANCIAL
ASSISTANCE FOR POSTGRADUATES
There are two schemes
made available by the University of Malaya for Malaysian citizens intending to pursue an
MSc (by research) or PhD degree at the university. These are the Skim Biasiswazah (Fellowship
Scheme) and the Skim Bantuan Kewangan Siswazah Lanjutan (Postgraduate Financial
Assistance Scheme). Details and application procedure for these schemes can be found here.
You may also want to try
for a Tutorship, whereby if successful you will be appointed as a tutor at
the Institute of Mathematical Sciences and will be required, among other things, to
conduct tutorials for undergraduate students. The number of tutorial hours per week varies
depending on availability of staff but is usually not more than 10 hours per week. Further
details and application forms may be obtained from

Study Loans
If you do not have the
money and have not been successful in getting a scholarship, you may want to consider
getting your masters or doctorate degree first and paying back later when you have
graduated.
